Airtel is offering the newly launched iPhone 7 at Rs. 19990 under iPhone for life plan. However, there are hidden conditions behind this offer. When you view the ad surrounding this offer, it sounds to be true but in reality, it is difficult to claim ownership for iPhone 7 at this price.

As part of the Airtel “iPhone for life” plan, the 32GB internal storage variant of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are available for a down payment of Rs. 19990. Upon investigation, we came to know that this offer is applicable only for enterprise customers.

This means there are few enterprise companies who have established partnerships with Airtel and the offer will be available for their employees. Moreover, this package is currently extended only to enterprises based in Karnataka and Noida. Airtel declined to reveal the name of the companies that are covered under this offer.

According to Airtel, the 32GB default variant of iPhone 7 is priced at Rs. 59998. As part of the deal, you only need to pay Rs. 19990 as an initial down payment. After that, you need to pay the remaining amount in monthly intervals as suggested by Airtel.

Airtel iPhone for life in association with Bajaj Finance

Meanwhile, Airtel has entered into a partnership with Bajaj Finance, who is providing zero percent interest scheme for iPhone. To be eligible for this offer, you must be eligible for a loan and produce your latest two months’ salary slip. You should also provide a standing instruction for Electronic Clearance Service. This will authorize Bajaj Finance to automatically deduct money from your account as per the plan.

If you avail Airtel’s iPhone for life plan, you should also choose between three Airtel plans starting at Rs. 1999. The other two plans are Rs. 2499 and Rs. 2999 per month. The main attraction of these plans is that they provide 5GB of 3G/4G data alongside unlimited local + STD calling.

While the Rs. 2499 plan offers you with 10GB of 3G/4G data, the Rs. 2999 plan provides you with 15GB of 3G/4G data per month. You will also get free access to Wynk music and movies under these plans.

Theft, water damage, and Mobile Number Portability not allowed

In case if you lose iPhone 7 after you opt for the plan, you still need to pay tariffs for the plan for the remaining period. Moreover, cracked LCD and damages caused as a result of water are not covered. Hence, you will not be able to return your iPhone 7 if the handset is damaged.

Once you opt for this offer, you will not be able to apply for Mobile Number Portability (MNP). You are forced to use Airtel service. Furthermore, it is not possible to transfer the ownership or migrate from postpaid to a prepaid plan.

The down payment for the 128GB and 256GB iPhone 7 are Rs. 29490 and Rs. 35990 respectively. The initial payment for the purchase of 32GB iPhone 7 Plus is Rs. 30792. However, if you need to purchase 128GB and 256GB storage models, you need to invest Rs. 37292 and Rs. 43792 respectively.

After one year, you can either return the iPhone 7 for new iPhone or purchase it by making a balloon payment of Rs. 24000. In reality, you will end up paying Rs. 71590 after one year. This includes Rs. 19990 down payment, Rs. 27600 for the data plan and Rs. 24000 balloon payment.
