Intel McAfee protects Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge against malware

New Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge worldwide come pre-installed with Intel McAfee VirusScan anti-malware. Samsung phones equip the mobile security and anti-malware suit. Moreover, nearly 40 million Samsung Galaxy users worldwide are already protected by Intel Security.

Commenting on the partnership, John Giamatteo, Corporate Vice President at Intel Security said since customers are moving towards mobile devices instead of traditional laptops for shopping and sensitive transactions; there is a need to ensure greater protection against malware so that the critical data are always protected.

Moreover, the current tie-up with Samsung instils confidence among customers to work without any hassles. Samsung is hopeful of providing Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge users with something using which they can work comfortably without worrying about any cyber-attacks.

Even if new threats emerges, the devices will be protected from them as well since Intel Security is continuously working on to enhance protection. According to Intel Security’s Mobile Threat Report, 3 million phones were affected by malware solely through app stores over the past 6 months with an increase of 24% in Q4 2015 when compared with Q3 2015.
