The Chinese giant Huawei is quite serious regarding the provision of latest updates on their smartphones. Now, the company has started rolling out Android Pie-based EMUI 9 update on Huawei P20 Pro and Nova 3 handsets in India.

To recall, the company previously confirmed its Android Pie update timeline with the customers. As per which, the devices including Huawei P20 Pro, P20, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10, Nova 3 and Nova 3i were confirmed to get the update.

While Huawei has already rolled out updates to some of the phones globally, the company is now focussing on seeding India-specific builds. That being said, the roll-out of the final version of Android Pie-based EMUI 9 will start next week onwards in the country.

The device will automatically notify you to download the update whenever it’s available. Alternatively, you can also check manually for the update. Users can go to Settings > About Phone > System updates and look for the updates.

Do note that the update will be rolled out in batches and hence may cause a further delay. Anyways, from our side, we recommend backing up all your data, and then performing a factory reset after each major update.

EMUI 9 Update

The EMUI 9 brings certain significant upgrades over the EMUI 8, intended for better user experience. Huawei recently implemented GPU Turbo on its phones to boost graphics performance and reduce power consumption. It has now been updated to GPU Turbo 2.0, offering even better gaming performance and a more comprehensive list of game support.

Moreover, the new EMUI 9 packs in a plethora of nifty features. This includes a revamped interface, HiVision visual search, Password Vault, Digital Balance dashboard, multiple options for backup and one-handed controls. Further, you’ll also be able to use full-screen gestures for navigation, just like the iPhone X.

Above all, it makes use of AI to observe your usage patterns over the time to keep up with the best possible experience. This also includes better power management and fast app loading times.

In the meanwhile, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is already doing well regarding software updates. The Honor 10, Honor Play and Honor View10 have already received the update, while the Honor 8X is still in tow. Stay tuned.
