HTC Nexus Sailfish leak suggests 5-inch display, Snapdragon 820, more

New leaks of the upcoming HTC Nexus codenamed Sailfish has emerged online, which points to the device sporting a 5-inch display with Snapdragon 820 for processing duties.

The latest bit of information has its origin in a Sailfish ROM dump that has been put online by serial leakster Evan Blass, who is better known by his Twitter handle @evleaks. This again adds some credibility to the leak as well going by his stellar record.

HTC Nexus Sailfish Specs

As has been revealed in the latest leak, the Sailfish will feature a full HD 5-inch display and will come pre-installed with the forthcoming Android Nougat version. Further, Nexus Sailfish which will be similar in design and looks to its bigger cousin, the Marlin and will essentially be built out of metal and glass.

The device will also come with a fingerprint sensor accommodated at the rear along with the camera of course. However, the Nexus Sailfish is expected to feature almost the same camera that currently renders service in Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.

Further, the leak would have us believe the handset will be powered by Qualcomm SD 820 instead of the more recent SD 821, along with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Also, it is going to be a 2,770mAh battery that would be providing the juice. Thereafter, a USB Type-C port, headphone jack along with speakers at the bottom pretty much sums up the Nexus Sailfish spec sheet.

The bigger HTC Nexus Marlin is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display with the new SD 821 humming on the other side of it. There will be a 4 GB RAM as well along with storage options of 32 GB and 128 GB. Fortunately, battery capacity too is getting an uptick to 3,450mAh battery on the Marlin.

However, while all of the above seems like the Sailfish will be an exciting device to look forward to, the fact is it is going to offer things that already are available in the market. For instance, there is the already acclaimed Samsung Galaxy S7 or HTC 10 that offer more or less the same features and specifications.

Then there is also the OnePlus 3 that too comes with a similar spec sheet but at a much lesser price point. As such, it will be interesting to see how the HTC Sailfish fares in the market that already is crowded with similar handsets.
