Honor 10 Lite with Kirin 710 and 24MP Selfie Camera launched in India: Price, Specifications

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally launched the Honor 10 Lite in India at an event held in New Delhi. The device was first unveiled back in November in China as a successor to the last years Honor 9 Lite.

As seen in our first impressions, the Honor 10 Lite uses a clear polycarbonate back with the reflective design underneath. The main highlights of the handset include a dew-drop notch, Kirin 710 processor and a 24MP AI selfie camera.

The Honor 10 Lite sports a 6.21-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels in a 19:5:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass on top. It further boasts pixel density of 415ppi followed by an impressive 91% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, it is powered by Huawei’s in-house 12nm-based Kirin 710 SoC coupled with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and a dedicated NPU for AI tasks. It is available in 4/64GB, 6/64GB RAM and storage variants for the Indian market. Moreover, the given MicroSD card slot allows for further storage expansion up to 256GB.

For photography, the Honor 10 Lite gets a dual camera setup at the back, comprising a 13-megapixel primary shooter bearing an aperture of f/1.8, along with a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor. Upfront, the phone carries a single 24-megapixel unit with f/2.0 aperture, unlike its predecessor which had dual front shooters.

As you’d expect, the camera app incorporates nifty AI features including portrait mode, partition optimization and smart scene detection which can recognize and enhance up to 22 different scenes in realtime using the NPU. The company is also touting the AI Enhanced calls functionality, used to reduce noise during voice calls.

The device runs latest Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0.1 on top and is backed by a 3,400mAh battery. Additional features include GPU Turbo 2.0 which is claimed to boost the graphics performance and battery efficiency while gaming.

One can also use Facial recognition for unlocking the device in addition to the fingerprint scanner given at the back. Not to mention, the company has also equipped in certain features like Wi-Fi bridge, Party mode, Paytm Pay and Ride mode, etc. with the smartphone.

Lastly, the connectivity options onboard include dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS + GLONASS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Honor 10 Lite Price & Availability

The Honor 10 Lite starts at Rs. 13,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage in India. On the other hand, the 6GB RAM model goes as high as Rs. 17,999. Both the models come in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, and a peculiar Sky Blue colour option with gradient finish.

The Honor 10 Lite will go on sale starting January 20 (midnight 12 AM) on Flipkart as well as HiHonor Store in the country. Bundled offers include a Jio cashback worth Rs. 2,200 and a Cleartrip voucher worth Rs. 2,800.

To recall, it was launched at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 14,700) for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant and CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,800) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage model in China. It is good to see how well the company has managed to keep the Indian price lower than the Chinese one for the base model. That being said, let’s see at what price does the Honor View20 come for.
