HMD Global has scheduled a new launch event on February 24 at MWC 2019, Barcelona. The company is expected to unveil a couple of Nokia smartphones during the event. This could probably include Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 8.1 Plus and Nokia 6.2 smartphones.

Previously, Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global confirmed via a tweet that Nokia would be attending this year’s MWC to showcase new stuff. Following the same, the company has now sent official press invites for its event at MWC 2019 in Barcelona. Scheduled at 4:00 PM Barcelona time, the event will be live-streamed by the company. We’ll update you with the links accordingly.

Notably, the previous teasers suggested the launch of Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 8.1 Plus premium smartphones. The much-hyped Nokia 9 PureView would feature a Penta-camera setup at the rear. The Nokia 8.1 Plus, on the other hand, would bear a punch hole selfie camera in the top left corner of the display. Furthermore, if reports are to be believed, HMD could also launch the Nokia 6.1’s successor, dubbed as Nokia 6.2. We might also see Nokia N9 as a feature phone running on KaiOS.

Not to mention, the Nokia 9 will be the company’s new flagship smartphone with top-end specs. Similarly, the Nokia 8.1 Plus would lead the Nokia 8.1 in the premium mid-range segment. Whereas, the Nokia 6.2 will be a mid-range offering, just like the Nokia 6.1.

As per the previous reports, the Nokia 9 will sport a 5.9-inch OLED curved display with QuadHD+ resolution. It’ll be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that can be expanded further using a microSD card. The phone is likely to run on Android 9.0 (Pie) and will feature the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Rumours also hint at the presence of Nokia OZO Audio and a massive 4150mAh battery with support for wireless charging.

Given that the event is not so far let’s wait for the official launch to reveal exact information concerning the upcoming smartphones. Stay tuned for more updates.
