Hike Messenger crosses 100 million users mark

Hike Messenger has crossed a 100 million user mark along with 40 billion messages every month. In the month of September, the company had announced that it had 70 million registered users, while, in the month of December, it claimed to cross 30 million messages mark. ‘100 million’ is the number of registered users, while the company hasn’t mentioned the number of active users yet.

CEO and Founder of Hike Messenger, Kavin Bharti Mittal stated that this was a big achievement for the company and an excellent start to the new year. For the company, 100 million mark is way beyond expectations.

He further added that users are not only calling or messaging on Hike but are also reading the news in English and Hindi, getting inspirations from Hike Daily, viewing live scores of cricket and transferring files on Hike Direct.

According to a survey conducted by the company, 90% of hike users are aged under 30, and 90% are based out of India. Having a localized strategy for India, Hike continues reaching the young user base that craves social interactions, consumes enormous information, survives on challenges like limited data and poor connectivity and shares like never before.

The company further adds that on an average user spend around 120 minutes per week on Hike.

In the month of December, Hike Messenger announced support for 8 Indian languages such as Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati and Tamil. This app is available globally on iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Android platforms.
