Google rolling out August Android Security update for Pixel and Nexus devices

Google started rolling out a new over the air update for its Nexus and Pixel devices, it is basically a part of the monthly Android security update. Google also posted the factory images after this update to manually install them. This update doesn’t come with any visual changes; it fixes lots of internal software issues like framework, libraries and more. This new update is for Pixel and Nexus. Here is the full list of supported smartphones:

  • Pixel and Pixel XL
  • Nexus 6P
  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 9 WiFi and LTE
  • Pixel C
  • Nexus Player

There are a lot of fixes in this update about the core software and programming which a consumer won’t see but affects the total performance of the device. If you are into these internal updates and want to know all of the updates, then go to the Android Developer page about this update.
