Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL’s specs and pictures leak ahead of May 7 launch

Google is all geared up to launch the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL as scheduled on May 7. However, adding to the previous leaks, we now have the specs of both the devices, thanks to the freshly leaked promo materials. Notably, the newly leaked pictures show off the upcoming Pixel 3a duo in White, Purple, and Black colour options.

As evident through previous leaks, White and Purple variants will come with an Orange and Yellow-colored power buttons, respectively. However, the Black model will have a plain black coloured key, as seen on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3.

Coming to the leaked promo materials, they reveal that both the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will come with Google’s Night Sight. Well, we all know that Night Sight bought massive success to the 2018 Pixels. Now, the upcoming mid-rangers from the company will carry on the same legacy. Both the phones will also incorporate Motion Focus and Portrait Mode features, accompanied by unlimited Google Photos storage.

Moreover, Google will be offering at least three years of security and version updates. Therefore, both the handsets will get Android Q, R, as well as Android S. Other notable highlights, including fast charging, Call Screen feature and the custom-made Titan M security chip, will be given onboard.

Furthermore, the Pixel 3a will sport a 5.6-inch FHD+ display and ship with a 3,000 mAh battery. The Pixel 3a XL, on the other hand, will come with a 6-inch FHD+ panel backed by a 3,700mAh battery. As far as the previous rumours are concerned, the smaller Pixel 3a will get powered by Snapdragon 670 SoC whereas the larger one will be powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC.

As for the camera, the upcoming duo will feature a 12.2MP single shooter at the rear, 8MP front shooter for selfies, 4GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, Android Pie, and rear-mounted fingerprint scanners. These phones will also feature Active Edge sensors, similar to their elder siblings.

As for the price, the Pixel 3a is tipped to start at $399 (about Rs. 27,691) in the US whereas the 3a XL will start at $479 (roughly Rs. 33,242). That said, Google will be launching the new mid-rangers in India on May 8. Till then, stay tuned.
