Alleged Google Pixel 3 Lite leaks with Snapdragon 670 and a headphone jack

Despite skipping the phone during the Pixel 3 launch, Google is now reportedly working on a budget Pixel smartphone dubbed as Pixel 3 Lite, suggests the freshly leaked images of the device.

The images come from a Russian tech blog Rozetked that claims the device code-named as “Sargo” to be the alleged Google Pixel 3 Lite.

As far as the design goes, this unreleased Pixel appears to be more or less similar to the Pixel 3, with a few minor changes here and there. The phone sports a 5.56-inch display having a Full-HD+ resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels with significant bezels on top and bottom, followed by bezels on the sides as well.

Moving on, the back houses a single camera and an LED flash along with a fingerprint scanner and G logo. The power button (with a yellow accent) and volume rockers are given to the right while the images also show a 3.5mm audio jack on top, a Type-C charger at the bottom edge and stereo speakers on both the sides.

Moreover, the report claims that the avowed mid-range Pixel 3 Lite will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 at its core, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. As usual, there won’t be any SD card slot; however, we are surprised to see the headphone jack which Google removed in the second gen Pixels after mocking Apple for doing the same.

In the optics department, the handset will bear a single 12-megapixel sensor at the back and an 8-megapixel sensor up front. It will be fueled by a 2,915mAh battery and will run on latest Android 9 Pie.

Now, it’s not the first time that we’ve heard of a mid-range smartphone from Google. Earlier, the company itself teased a “Mini-Pixel” phone on its Instagram handle. Note that there are no recent official announcements regarding the device and its tough to speculate anything as of now, barring that, the report further mentions the pricing to be somewhere between $400 (Rs 29,700) and $500 (Rs 36,000) which if true, will pit it against the likes of OnePlus, Pocophone and Asus. Let’s wait for future leaks and reports. Till then, stay tuned.
