According to reports, the smaller Pixel 2 model is said to pack a 4.97-inch display with a Full HD resolution. Also, the device is likely to retain the same design aesthetics as last year’s model. However, some sources suggest that the device will feature stereo speakers and will be without a 3.5mm jack.
Under the hood, the upcoming Pixel 2 will feature the Snapdragon 835 processor bundled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage.
Coming to the larger Pixel XL 2 codenamed Taimen, the device will feature a 5.99-inch OLED display with a 1440p resolution. Powering the smartphone is said to be a Snapdragon 835 processor bundled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. In terms of design, the Pixel XL 2 is also expected to flaunt a dual-tone glass and metal finish just like its predecessor. As far as the camera is concerned, reports suggest that Google is likely to stick a single-lens camera setup with dual-LED flash.
Elsewhere, both smartphones are said to come with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. In addition, upcoming Pixel flagships are said to feature 4K UHD Premium Foveated Rendering, 10-bit 4K @60fps display capabilities, along with Q-SYNC for running high-end VR applications.

That said, nothing is officially confirmed and readers are advised to take this information with a pinch of salt. Besides, Google might pack its upcoming devices to rival the likes of the iPhone 7, OnePlus 5, Samsung with features such as dual-lens cameras, along with increased RAM and storage. Going by the current trend in the smartphone market, 6GB of RAM has become standard on any flagship phone.
Besides, the concept of dual-lens camera setup is also gaining momentum, We see many flagships phones, sometimes even affordable ones from manufacturers such as OnePlus, Apple, Huawei, and LG equipped with a dual-lens camera, in hopes to give their devices DSLR-like capabilities. Hence, going by the current spec sheet, it appears Google needs to up the ante with its upcoming Pixel 2 handsets to get an edge over its competitors.
