Google launches ‘Google Play made for India’ initiative

Google India is on the verge of introducing the Indian version of Google Play in the country under Made in India initiative. This announcement is made by the company at its first App Excellence Summit in Bengaluru, where significant numbers of Apps and Game developers were present to share their ideas to build a best quality Android apps for Indians users.

So to upload the apps on Play Store, Developers has to enroll themselves at this URL domain g.co/play/madeforindia. The registration process will start by entering email id in the respective field and accepting the site guidelines. Further, the developers have to the fill the respective field on the next page regarding the name of the app, URL of the app, the target market of the app, download, and rating, etc.

According to Google, the total number of Android users has crossed the US users base. Google also claims that about a billion apps have been installed by the Indian users every month from the Play Store. Further, the Google states that the growth of apps installation rate has been bumped up to 150% with the 3 times growth in the Indian user’s consumer base. The Google is eyeing on their great business prospect in the future, this initiative seems to provide them the platform on which Indian developer can explore their potential with creating the own source of income through developing the apps.

Speaking at the summit, Purnima Kochikar, Director, Business Development, Games & Applications, Google Play, said, “At Google Play, we are committed to helping Indian developers of app sizes seize this opportunity and build successful, locally relevant business. A lot of what we do at Google Play is support developers’ imaginations and make Android consumers aware of the amazing new experiences our developers are creating”.
