Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop is speculated to be the best Android release since it began. However, the latest Lollipop upgrade comes with the number of bugs that hinder or crashes different applications on multiple devices.
A bug that leaks RAM and causes apps to crash is prevalent since Google made its developer preview available for users back in June. When apps or programs are opened, RAM gets used up.
However, Android is engineered in such a way that RAM is designed to clear up when it senses that something else needs the resources. This troublesome bug was hindering the RAM from clearing up and allowing other processes to make use of it.
The bug was causing apps to crash or force close but wasn’t affecting all apps, but those that needed the most RAM to run in the background. Such apps could include those which people use on a daily basis.
Finally, Google found a solution to fix this bug and will soon release an update to affected devices. Android Lollipop users experiencing this bug may get an update in the next couple of weeks as Google has been fast with updates release in regards to bugs.
Though Android Lollipop bug affected Nexus devices including Nexus 10, Nexus 9, Nexus 7 (2012 & 2013), Nexus 6, Nexus 5 and Nexus 4.
Google released its Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update earlier this month with a bug fix update for most of the Android 5.0 Lollipop problems. While the update was released for most of the Nexus devices, it skipped the Nexus 7 2012.
More recently, Google released Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update especially for Nexus 7 2012 users. The surprise release was bug fix update for Nexus 7 2012 Wi-Fi users.
