Gionee teases M2017 with 7000mAh battery and dual rear camera

Gionee is expected to unveil M2017 smartphone within the next few days, which will most likely be powered by a 7000mAh battery. The TENAA certification site has released teasers of the upcoming handset. These renders are labeled as official since the Chinese actress Xu Fan and director husband Feng Xiaogang participated in the promo event for the forthcoming phone.

The integration of a 7000mAh battery in standard Android smartphones is new. We have seen handsets that are rumored to ship with a 6000mAh battery.

The main reason for the addition of 7000mAh battery in Gionee M2017 is attributed to the huge demand of various resource consuming apps. Moreover, gamers are migrating from PCs to smartphones. Hence, the need for a massive battery is of acute importance.

Gionee M2017 specifications

Based on the information from TENAA certification, the Gionee M2017 will be equipped with a 5.7-inch quad-HD display, MediaTek Helio P10 processor coupled with 6GB RAM. Talking about storage, the handset will offer a massive 128GB storage. The phone runs at a clock speed of 1.95GHz, which is somewhat low when compared with other competing smartphones.

Gionee M2017 features dual camera

Expected to be manufactured using a svelte finish, the rear camera will have a 12MP and 13MP dual-camera sensor. On the front, you will experience an 8MP sensor. The phone will be loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, although Gionee will unveil an update to Android Nougat within the next few months.

If you think the weight of the phone will be on the high side due to the massive 7000mAh battery, then you are wrong. According to rumors, the Gionee M2017 will be less than 10mm thick and 230 grams. This is very less for a smartphone with a 7000mAh battery. However, the phone will be bulky than iPhone 7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

Based on the specs, we expect the phone to be priced at around $499. As of writing this, we don’t have any information about when the handset will be officially launched. However, the surface of the alleged teaser indicates that you need not have to wait long.
