Gionee has launched Gionee M6 and M6 Plus with an inbuilt data encryption security chip and a massive 6020mAh battery in Champagne Gold and Mocha Gold color variants at a launch event in China on July 26.
However, the security chip will be available only on the China variants of the devices. The devices shipped to global destinations will be equipped with fingerprint sensors. Regarding availability, the Gionee M6 will be on sale from August 6. However, you will be able to buy Gionee M6 Plus only from August 13.
Gionee M6 Specifications
On the specifications front, the Gionee M6 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED FHD display (401PPI), Helio P10 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. The display offers 100 percent NTSC gamut and 2.5D curved glass protection.
The device ships in both 64GB and 128GB storage variants with expansion capability up to 128GB. The rear camera offers a 13-megapixel sensor with support for PDAF and LED Flash coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper.
Capable of delivering up to 6.4 hours of video playback, the Gionee M6 packs a huge 5000mAh battery with fast charging technology. According to official sources, the device can be charged within two hours. With a sensitive fingerprint scanner, the Gionee M6 provides support for all major connectivity options. The handset measures 180 grams with a thickness of 8.2mm.
Gionee M6 Plus Specifications
The Gionee M6 Plus features a 6-inch FHD AMOLED display, 16-megapixel rear camera sensor with dual LED flash, 6020mAh battery. The device measures 215 grams with a thickness of 8.2mm, which is the same as Gionee M6. All other specifications remain the same as the Gionee M6 handset.
Gionee M6 and M6 Plus Features
Talking about the features, the Gionee M6 and M6 Plus features an encrypted chip that protects the data from authorized access. The chip protects all call records, images, videos, documents and any other data located inside the smartphone with advanced encryption technologies.
The new security chip also provides an ability to protect users from malware including securing Instant message communications from being decrypted easily. Both Gionee M6 and Gionee M6 Plus ships with Amigo 3.5 OS on top of Android Marshmallow, which is the latest platform.
Gionee M6 and M6 Plus Pricing
The 64GB internal storage variant of Gionee M6 is priced at CNY 2699 (Rs. 27500). You need to pay CNY 2899 (Rs. 29600) for the 128GB variant. The Gionee M6 Plus, on the other hand, is available for CNY 2999 (Rs. 30600) for 64GB and CNY 3199 (Rs. 32500) for 128GB model.
Although there is no official confirmation, we expect Gionee M6 and Gionee M6 Plus to launch in India within the next 30 days.
