If you still haven’t won a game of Fortnite Battle Royale, you’re not alone. Tons of players have hundreds of stars but still haven’t got that first win. Hopefully, some of these tips will work for you as you try and get that first victory on the board.
- Stick to the bushes
Camping might feel dirty, but sometimes, it’s what you need to do to get the job done. There’s a reason why a wearable bush is a key loot item, it’s a great place to hide. Fortunately, you don’t need to wait to find that rare item when there are bushes practically all over the map. Simply stick to them and rush from one to another as the storm closes. You’ll probably see people run by you quite often.
When you do see someone run past, they probably won’t see you – so you have to make the tough decision over whether to shoot them or let them pass. Shooting them should be easy if you’ve got the right weapon, but it’ll also give your position away. You might want to avoid it if there are a lot of people around.
Just remember, if someone is close, use the shotgun. If they’re not, use an assault rifle or better long-range weapon.
- Use the right weapons
Too many people try bunny-hopping with an assault rifle at long-range. This doesn’t really work.
Try and make sure your inventory is filled with something for different distances. Stick to the best shotgun you’ve got when you’re inside or at close range. This is the time when bunny-hopping can work.
- If you’re already in the safe zone, you don’t need to run about
Another big mistake people make is running around the map and giving their position away when they don’t need to. If you’re already in an area that isn’t going to be swamped by the storm, you don’t need to go running around. Find somewhere safe and wait. You’ll often see people running into this area towards you that could be easy to target.
- Don’t give your position away
You’ve probably started to realize that the best way to survive longer and get closer to winning Fortnite Battle Royale is to simply stay alive and not get spotted. Another mistake people make is building too many structures when they don’t need to. These can be useful when you’ve already been found, but not when you haven’t so don’t give your position away by building a big base when you can simply hide in an old house or bush.
- Drop in somewhere safe
If you want to get to the end, then don’t jump out as soon as possible. That’s what so many people do, and few of them survive. Try flying across the map to somewhere quiet and loading up on loot. Ideally, you could stay away from enemies until there’s only one of them left, giving you a better chance of winning.
With millions playing, Fortnite looks set to be one of the biggest games in history, so you should start enjoying it if you haven’t already. Make sure you gear up and buy yourself a reliable gaming laptop to help you conquer the game.
