Mxit

Communication is playing a very crucial role in simplifying the complex and busy lifestyle of people around the world. Yet there are ways through which we all are connected with each other and sharing our thoughts and feelings via mobile phones (calling and messaging), Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc.

These days with advancement in technology, markets are inundated with myriad smartphones along with multitude messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Line, WeChat and so on to choose from. In addition to the segment, here comes the Mxit.

It is an instant messaging app that is developed by a South African company, used by millions of users across the African nations. However, the most important distinguishing factor setting it apart from WeChat, WhatsApp and Line is, while all these are simply the smartphone apps, Mxit is a feature mobile app.

Mxit India Pvt Ltd, CEO, Rufus Nallaraj said that Mxit enables users to avail services on feature phones which otherwise are available only on smartphones. During the launch, he seemed confident enough over the app’s success, as it is the core reason for being the presence of 700 million active feature mobiles in the country and Mxit’s capability of transforming a feature phone into a smartphone. They have got Gary Kirsten as Mxit’s brand ambassador.

Mxit’s unique feature to send a message of 300 characters instead of 140, easy installation on prominent operating systems like Java, Windows, and Android will help the company initially to reach the 500 million users wordwide.

The application and its services are currently accessible in Hindi and English, whereas six months down the line it would be offered in 10 other Indian languages.

Mxit can easily be installed on your mobile in two different ways. Firstly, easy download from the website or from the app store, or even by sending an SMS – MXIT to 57333.
