Facebook uniting India and Pakistan by integrating Profile Picture for ICC T20 WC Match, posted Mark Zuckerberg

FB

Facebook has rolled out the profile frame feature, which enables you to show your support for your favourite team in ICC T20 World Cup 2016 by decorating your profile picture. However, this feature will be available in a phased manner and will take a few days for it to reflect in your Facebook account. To show your support, you need to visit facebook.com/profilepicframes and follow the instructions.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook designed the profile frames feature to help people to show support for their favourite teams or for a cause they believe in. Moreover, it shows the value of being connected with people from both countries.

As of writing this, we are unable to work with this feature and the page returned a message stating that the feature will be available soon.

Meanwhile, an online campaign with the hashtag #ProfilesForPeace is going on in both Facebook and Twitter in full swing with several messages in the form of posts and tweets. Facebook hopes that the messages poured in by twitteraties all over the world will open new gates in the relationship between India and Pakistan.

While cricket fans based in India are putting the Pakistani frame around their profile picture, people from Pakistan are showing support for India by decorating with Indian frame using the same #ProfilesForPeace hashtag.

The post published by Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg garnered over 10,000 comments with over 19000 people sharing it on their Facebook walls including over 1.2 lakh users liking it.

The integration of profile frame feature is not new to Facebook. Previously, the same technique was adopted to spread the awareness of Digital India initiative.

In the midst of growing security concerns, India is scheduled to play an encounter with Pakistan on March 19 as part of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.
