Mukesh Ambani-run Reliance Jio has asked TRAI to abolish cap in airways owed in a particular band. At the same time, it also suggested retaining the 25% spectrum cap on airwaves owned by a particular band.

The forthcoming 4G service release by Reliance is being hailed as the best hiring phases in recent times.

It is an excellent opportunity for young aspirants who are trained in the telecommunication field especially after the lull period after the cancellation of the telecom licenses in 2012.

The hiring in this segment is estimated to be in the range of 20,000 and 30,000 in the coming four to six months. Companies like Jio are trying to create an entirely new ecosystem and will revolutionize the work culture. It has hired a lot of persons from a diverse field, and other companies are also following the same strategy.

Companies have lured talent from enterprises that are varied and includes mobile-gaming firm Mango Games, Hathway, Indian social networking platform StepOut, McCann-Erickson and Aditya Birla Retail.Idea Cellular has recruited 2700 employees in nine months as compared to 1500 during the same period last year.

The competition in the 4G segment has become keener with the entry of Jio, which has been scouring talent forcing other companies to follow suit. The focus today is on rural penetration, and this means more benches and more recruitments.

According to Santrupt Misra, Director, HR at the Aditya Birla Group, Idea plans to hire additional 2500 to 3000 employees next year.

The 4G launch has also bared the rivalries between billionaires with the Ambani duo headed Reliance Jio and Reliance Communication locking horns with the No 1 Telco company in India Bharti Airtel run by Sunil Bharti Mittal and Kumar Mangalam Birla, who heads Idea Cellular. The competition has become keener with the entry of Vodafone India.
