Datawind has launched two new smartphones in the market under the branding Pocket Surfer – PS 2G4X and PS 3G4X with a price tag of Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 3,999 respectively. Both the smartphones are scheduled to be launched all over India via retail distribution outlets and will be equipped with special facilities such as free unlimited internet browsing for a year on Telenor and Reliance prepaid connections.
However, the free service only allows data browsing and do not include local downloads and audio/video streaming. For that, the user will have to load up the devices with data plans.
Specifications of PocketSurfer PS 2G4X:
Equipped with a 3.5-inch Capacitive Touchscreen display having a screen resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, Datawind PocketSurfer PS 2G4X is powered by a single-core 1.0GHz Cortex A5 processor paired with 256MB of RAM. The device offers 512MB of internal storage space, which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.
Out-of-the-box, PS 2G4X runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean operating system. The handset sports VGA cameras on both front and rear sides. Regarding connectivity, the dual-SIM smartphones support 2G, standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and a 3.5mm headset jack.

Datawind PocketSurfer PS 3G4Z comes equipped with a 4-inch display with a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The device runs on 1.0GHz single-core Cortex A7 processor mated with 512MB RAM. The handset offers 4GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB.
The dual-SIM PS 3G4Z runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS and is equipped with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash support and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. Connectivity option includes 3G/EDGE, standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB and a 3.5mm headset jack.
