Everything you need to know about Coolpad Note 3 Lite: First Impressions

Recently, Coolpad’s latest entrant in the Indian market Coolpad Note 3 Lite got an exciting price tag of Rs. 6,999. The successor to previously introduced Coolpad Note 3 with 5.5″ display and 3GB RAM, Coolpad Note 3 Lite offers the same amount RAM and super fast fingerprint sensor as its predecessor, but at a lesser price tag.

Initially, Coolpad unveiled its Note 3 Lite at a press event in Delhi on January 15. We got a chance to explore Coolpad Note 3 Lite for some time, and here’s what our initial first-hand experience says. Read on!

The smaller form factor of Coolpad Note 3 Lite makes it fit perfectly in the hand. It features a polycarbonate body with a golden rim around its edges. You will find a volume rocker on the left and the power button on the right.

A 3.5 mm audio jacks sits at the top while the micro USB port can be found at the bottom of the phone. Equipped with a 5.0-inch HD (1280 x 720p) IPS display covered by Scratch-resist glass on the top, Coolpad Note 3 Lite is powered by a 64-bit MT6735 1.3GHz Quad-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and ARM Mali-T720 GPU.

Out-of-the-box, the smartphone runs on CoolUI 6.0, which is based on Android 5.2 Lollipop operating system. The Note 3 Lite offers 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.

On the camera front, Coolpad Note 3 Lite sports a 13MP primary camera with LED flash support and a 5MP front-facing camera. The device packs some commonly used sensors like Proximity sensor, Light sensor, Magnetic sensor, Accelerometer, etc.

The smartphone comes with a fingerprint sensor that can be used for 9 years as per the company claims. The sensor is said to support 360-degree finger rotation and offer speedy recognition on 0.5 seconds.

Connectivity-wise, the dual-SIM Coolpad Note 3 Lite comes with 4G LTE support, 3G HSPA+, WLAN 802.11 b/g/b, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, Micro-USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headset jack. A 2,500mAh battery fuels the device, which company claims to deliver 8 hours of Talktime and 150 hours of Stand-by time.

Priced at Rs. 6,999, Coolpad Note 3 Lite is available in two color variants i.e. Black and Champagne White. Consumers can register for the sale of the smartphone, which will be available to buy exclusively via Amazon India from 28th January, 2016.

The company also announced to support ‘Make in India’ initiative by manufacturing from Videocon’s Aurangabad factory by the first quarter of 2016. The company is also targeting 1 million “Make in India” Coolpad phones going forward India will be the sole distributor for SAARC regions.
