Coolpad Max 7

Coolpad has announced its flagship smartphone, Coolpad Max, in India for Rs. 24,999. This smartphone is first in the family which comes in a metal body and is available in Rose Gold and Royal Gold color.

Coolpad, the China-based company, fostered a revolution in Indian market by introducing smartphones with premium specs under 10k. However, plastic construction remained a concern for many but here is the new addition flagship smartphone from Coolpad, the Coolpad Max with a premium metal unibody.

Coolpad bumped up into the mid-range segment; earlier they were targeting sub 10k market with Note 3, Note 3 Lite, etc. Priced at 24,999 INR, unlike its siblings, Coolpad Max strives to fit into premium mid-range category smartphones.

The smartphone is thin and weighs around 170g, makes it operable single handed but back is a little slippery. The build is premium due to metal unibody construction and it feels pretty nice in the hand.

Coolpad Max Design & Build

The front has 5.5 inch 1080p 2.5D ARC curved with a pixel density of 401ppi. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and looks pretty sharp and smooth display. Chamfered edges made with precision adds beauty to the device. Undoubtedly, it is a premium looking device but I found the screen a bit reflective.

The top has 3.5mm standard audio jack, and the bottom has Micro USB 2.0 port flanked by speaker grill. Every smartphone manufacturer seems to adapt similar design nowadays. The front has a 5MP shooter sensor and an earpiece. Turning to back it has the primary 13mp shooter with LED flash and Fingerprint sensor right below to it.

It’s a dual sim device but has a hybrid sim tray slot so only one sim can be used at a time with the microSD card. Coolpad chose on-screen navigation buttons that make bottom bezel completely clean.
