The chemistry between science and love- Schrodinger’s Cat

Scientists from Yale University recently broke new grounds in Quantum Physics, as they took ‘Schrodinger’s Cat’ to another level. The study proved that particles could be in any state until they are seen, and that when in the vicinity, they can be in one form. The theory was explained by an Austrian scientist named Erwin Schrodinger who put a cat in a box and said that the cat can either be alive or dead, and one can not be sure about it unless they see it.

Now the Yale research lead by Chen Weng performed an experiment using two boxes and particles. The boxes were run with electricity and the particles changed to a particular form at the same time. This proves that particles, no matter how far they are can be in the same form at the same time.

This theory has a psychological reference and has been used over the years to explain uncertainty in behaviour and thoughts (The Big Bang Theory fans should be familiar with this). The original Schrodinger’s Cat experiment may refer to one single person, however the newer version refers to two people. For example: If boy A, likes girl B, and is unsure about how she feels, has no other way to find out and be sure about it until he asks her, or she tells him (opening Schrodinger’s box).

The newer theory, however takes into account both the people’s feelings/opinions. This means that A does not know how B feels and has only one way of finding out for sure, for all he knows, she feels the same way about him. Girl B may be in the same situation as him (both particles, no matter how far away they are can be in the same state at the same time).
