After the successful launch of its RahmanIshq AR45 smartphone (Rs.7, 999), mainly targeting the music lovers in India, the Hyderabad-based Indian smartphone manufacturer, Celkon has now launched another new device in its popular Campus series, the new Campus A15. However, unlike the former, this brand new smartphone comes at a much lesser price of Rs. 3,999, making it one of Celkon cheapest offerings.

Given the price of the handset, it’s pretty much understandable that the phone will come with only the basic specifications. To begin with, the Campus A15 features 3.5-inch touch-screen display with HVGA resolution of 480x320pixels.

The handset is powered by 1GHz dual-core processor along with 256MB of RAM. But, the most appreciative part of this device is its operating system. Despite being a budget phone, Celkon chose Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS for it, instead of the usual Ice Cream Sandwich or Gingerbread used in most of the similar-priced smartphones. And another good thing about this affordable device is that, although it has a mere 512MB internal storage capacity, it has a microSD card slot that enables memory expansion up to 32GB.

Talking about the connectivity, Celkon’s new device includes connectivity options 2G (EDGE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, 802.11 b/g/n, and GPS. But, sadly, unlike the Campus A10, the A15 does not support 3G. Nonetheless, the Campus A15 comes with dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) with Dual Standby.

The smartphone features a 3.2-megapixel rear camera, but there is no front facing camera. And it is fitted with a 1400mAh battery.

The Campus A15 is pre-loaded with interactive games. Its Zapaya sharing app, allowing you to shake and transfer data is especially an interesting feature.

The phone, available only in the white color variant, is on sale at all the leading stores in India, since October 8.
