Cat Announces Cat S41, Cat S31 smartphones and Cat T20 Tablet at IFA 2017

The US based renowned company Caterpillar aka Cat has launched two durable, smart phones; Cat S41 and Cat S31 at IFA 2017 in Berlin on Thursday. These smartphones come with a military grade protection, water resistance, and drop/ vibration proofing. The company also launched a Windows 10-based tablet called the Cat T20 with the same aesthetics attributes of above mention smartphones. Both the smartphones run on Android Nougat operating system out of the box.

Specifications:

Cat S41:

The Cat S41 smartphone comes with a Military grade certification i:e MIL-STD 810G. It also adheres IP68 certification that allows this phone to withstand in up to 2 meters of water for up to 1 hour. Moreover, it is also dustproof for up to 1.8 meters on concrete and supports category four vibration proofing.

It sports a 5 inches Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display is highly sensitive and optimized to work with wet finger and glove as well. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757 octa-core chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.

On the optics front, the Cat S41 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear sensor with PDAF and LED flash. While up front, there is an 8MP front facing camera which comes with a fixed focus. The smartphone is fuelled by a 5000mAh Li-ion battery which claims to provides 44 days of standby time with battery sharing feature. The connectivity option includes 4G LTE, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB port with OTG support, and GPS/ A-GPS. The Cat S41 is measured at 152x75x12.85mm, and it weighs around 218 grams.

Cat S31

The Cat S31 sports a 4.7 inches HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and passes the MIL-STD 810G standard test and others an IP68 certification. Furthermore, the Cat S31 is powered by Snapdragon 210 chipset which coupled with 2GB RAM. The smartphone comes with a 16GB of internal storage which further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

The Cat S31 features an 8MP rear camera which comes with autofocus and LED flash. Whereas, on the front, there is a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The phone is fuelled by a 4000mAh Li-ion battery and measured at 146 x 74.42×12.6mm with weighing around 200 grams.

Cat T20 tablet:

The Cat T 20 Tablet comes with IP67 certification and rugged built. The tablet is featured with an 8 inches IPS LCD display which comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on it. The Cat T20 is powered by Intel Atom Z8350 chipset which coupled with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. The Tablet runs on Windows 10 operating system out of the box, and a 7500mAh Li-ion battery fuel it.

In the camera department, The Cat T20 packs a 5MP rear optics and a 2MP rear front facing camera. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1, mini-HDMI, and USB 3.0. The tablet is measured at 220x143x14mm and weighs around 650 grams.

Price and Availability

The Cat S41 smartphone is priced at $516 (Rs.32,900), While the Cat S31 will cost around $386 (Rs. 24,700). Whereas the Cat T20 tablet comes with a price tag of $599 (Rs.49,500). The Cat S41 is already available on the company’s official website. While there are no words regarding the availability of rest of the two devices.
