Carl Pei says what’s this to Sachin Bansal for discounted OnePlus 3 on Flipkart Big Shopping Days

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has reportedly called Sachin Bansal over the reported attempt of the home-grown e-commerce retailer to sell OnePlus 3 for less than Rs. 20,000. There are reports that Flipkart is gearing up to push the sales during the Big Shopping Days starting from December 18.

However, Pei informed Bansal that OnePlus 3 continues to be Amazon India exclusive. Hence, it is not legally tenable for Flipkart to sell products selling exclusively on Amazon.

The initial impressions show that Flipkart hasn’t approached OnePlus to secure the stocks. The company will take a call when it should sell OnePlus smartphones on other e-commerce platforms. In the meantime, Pei had posted another tweet stating that OnePlus will never betray the trust of consumers by dropping prices in an unethical manner.

Interestingly, with the launch of OnePlus 2, the company started to sell the older handsets on other prominent platforms such as Flipkart and Snapdeal. Even though the company has recently launched OnePlus 3T, the OnePlus 3 continues to be Amazon India exclusive.

Flipkart teases OnePlus 3 special offer

Normally, the OnePlus 3 is available at Rs. 27,999. However, Flipkart is gearing up to sell the smartphone for Rs. 1×999. Flipkart has released a teaser on its Big Shopping Days Sneak Preview page that it will be selling OnePlus 3 at rock bottom price. Moreover, the handset will be available in limited stocks in the soft gold color variant.

In addition to below Rs. 20000 price, you will also be eligible to avail additional 5% discount if you pay using Axis Bank Buzz credit card holders. Moreover, you can avail an EMI package for Rs. 1358 per month on using credit cards of select banks.

Upon verification of the OnePlus 3 product page on Twitter, we noticed that the seller has tagged it as Coming Soon. As of writing this, we don’t have any confirmation about whether Bansal has replied to Pei’s tweet.

We infer that a seller has posted the listing by procuring the product in bulk from China. The handset is definitely not sourced from OnePlus authorized distributor based in India. In a statement released to the press, Flipkart disclosed that the prices and discounts are decided by sellers and not be Flipkart.

It remains to be seen as to whether OnePlus will provide warranty for OnePlus 3 purchased through Flipkart. Hence, you are advised to exercise caution while buying the phone from Flipkart.
