The moment Call of Duty fans around the world have been eagerly anticipating is almost here: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, 2024! Developed by Treyarch, this year’s installment promises a return to the gritty, intense action the Black Ops series is known for, all set against the backdrop of the Gulf War. But exactly when can you jump into the action? Let’s break down the release times.
Global Launch Times:
- PC (Steam & Battle.net): 9pm PT (October 24), 12am ET (October 25), 5am BST (October 25), 6am CEST (October 25) – PC players get a simultaneous worldwide launch, so no need to worry about time zones!
- PlayStation & Xbox: Release times for consoles are a bit more staggered, falling within these windows:
- 4am PT to 11pm PT on October 24
- 7am ET on October 24 to 2am ET on October 25
- 12pm BST on October 24 to 7am BST on October 25
- 1pm CEST on October 24 to 8am CEST on October 25
Key Things to Know:
- No Early Access: Unlike some previous releases, there’s NO early access for Black Ops 6, regardless of edition or platform. Everyone gets to dive in at the same time (within their platform’s launch window).
- Pre-loading: To minimize day-one download headaches, pre-loading is available on all platforms. I highly recommend taking advantage of this if you’ve pre-ordered! I remember the frustration of waiting for huge downloads on launch day with past CoD titles, so pre-loading is a lifesaver.
- Editions: Black Ops 6 offers a Standard Edition and a Vault Edition with extra goodies for the hardcore fans.
My Take:
Personally, I’m most excited about the rumors of a revamped Zombies mode and the return of some classic Black Ops characters. The Gulf War setting is intriguing too – I’m hoping for a campaign that’s less bombastic than recent entries and more focused on tense, tactical combat. Having played every Black Ops title since the original, I’ve got high hopes for this one!
