Should you buy OnePlus 3 from Flipkart Big Shopping Days sale?

OnePlus 3

Flipkart Big Shopping Days sale has created a buzz in the industry; not only by the discount offers but also by the products sold on its platform exclusive to another portal. Well, we are talking about pocket-friendly flagship OnePlus 3 which is now available on Flipkart for Rs. 18,999. The price may entice anyone to make a purchase, because Rs. Rs. 9,000 off is not something you get every day. But many are dubious to get it in their kitty after the comment by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei.

It all started with Flipkart promotion of Big Shopping Days. The Indian e-commerce giant posted the discounted price of OnePlus 3 on Twitter for its year-end festive shopping sale. As mentioned above, the price of OnePlus 3 was listed as Rs. 18,999 which is otherwise available for Rs. 27,999 on Amazon (authorized partner for OnePlus products). After the promotional stunt, Pei responded to Flipkart reminding it of its exclusive partnership with Amazon India. He further informed Flipkart customers saying, “We have an exclusive partnership with Amazon in India. We advise customers to purchase OnePlus products only through official channels as we cannot guarantee the authenticity of the products sold elsewhere.”

The move has created distrust among some of the Flipkart customers who have been buying electronics, especially smartphones from the portal. Flipkart surely would do a good business with such lucrative deals, but Flipkart’s silence on this issue is sending mixed response to its customers. So the question arrises, should you buy OnePlus 3 from Flipkart right now? We would suggest you buy it at your own risk as OnePlus has already warned. OnePlus smartphones sold by Amazon would get official updates indeed, but we cannot say this about the OnePlus 3 handset sold on Flipkart.

As you must be knowing, OnePlus is a startup that has managed to make premium smartphones at a low price. It does not have distributors in India and the limited units in flash sale has also created a kind of scarcity of the phone. So, we won’t be surprised people rushing to any e-commerce website selling OnePlus product. Although, we would advise you to follow the company and know official channels before you go buying their products.
