BlackBerry Ltd has decided to continue its operations in Pakistan as the Government dropped the request for seeking access to BES servers and user data.
Marty Beard, the Chief Operating Officer of BlackBerry, stated that after several productive discussions, the shutdown order has been rescinded, and Blackberry has decided to continue its operations.
Similar problems were faced by the company in the past in India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and hence last month the company stated that shut down of operations in Pakistan would be delayed till the 30th of December.
State-run Telecommunication Authority demanded access to BlacBerry Enterprise Services that encrypts data such as instant messages and emails.
Beard further added that they were grateful to the Pakistani government and Telecommunication Authority for accepting the position of BlackBerry that content of the customers or access to BES servers cannot be provided.
They are looking forward to serving the market for years now and would include new services and products too. He also added that he is thankful to his valued customers for showing their loyalty and patience
BlackBerry that was earlier known by the name Research In Motion Ltd. Started on Thursday that access to BES servers cannot be provided.
According to a report, it was made clear that Inter-Services Intelligence, the Military Intelligence agency of Pakistan was seeking to expand the ability of dramatically intercepting communications.
