Asus ZenFone Max with 5000mAh battery launched in India at Rs. 9,999

Asus Zenfone Max is launched in India at Rs. 9,999 with a massive 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery. The smartphone will be officially available for purchase in both black and white colours on January 15 but can be pre-ordered via Amazon India and Flipkart starting today.

As we had reported earlier, Asus had initially announced its plan of launching Asus Zenfone Max on January 4 via Twitter.

The biggest attraction of the new Zenfone Max is its 5000mAh battery, which has the capability to store the charge for 38 days. The device also delivers 38 hours of 3G talk time and 23 hours of video playback.

Zenfone Max also provides support for reverse charging that enables you to make use of the device as a power bank to charge other similar devices including tablets, the company reveals.

Asus Zenfone Max will be a competitor for Intex Aqua Power HD, Gionee Marathon M4, Lava Iris Fuel F1, IBerry Auxus Prime P8000 and Intex Cloud Zest. These phones feature 4000mAh battery and are priced attractively.

The Lenovo Vibe P1 will also be a fierce competitor since the device is equipped with 5000mAh battery but priced higher than Zenfone Max.

Asus Zenfone Max features a 5.5-inch IPS HD display protected with Gorilla Glass 4, Snapdragon 410, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP primary camera and 5MP front-facing shooter. The device includes all standard connectivity options and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with ZenUI 2.0.

The Zenfone Max has been designed using a smooth metal bezel with rear etching technology to provide grip during usage. The ultra-fast laser auto-focus captures blur-free images with enhanced image stabilization.

Asus announced the phone in August 2015, but the company did not reveal the launch date and price at that time.

As of reporting this, Flipkart has not listed the smartphone for sale. We believe that the device went out of stock within minutes of opening pre-order booking. Amazon has also listed a premium belt pouch, screen guard and flip cover for Zenfone Max.

Asus is also planning to sell Zenfone Max through various retail and exclusive stores all over India.
