New Delhi – The Taiwanese smartphone maker, Asus has announced the availability of second generation ZenFone 2 range of smartphones in India. ZenFone 2, packed with some impressive hardware digits is already impressing the Indian end-user market.
ASUS CEO, Jerry Shen along with Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan, Dabboo Ratnani, and singer Aditi Singh Sharma launched the ZenFone 2 in a special event organized at Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon.

Asus ZenFone 2 comes in 4 variants, differentiated on the basis of hardware fitted inside them, and five color choices viz. Black/White/Red/Gray/Gold. ZenFone 2 hails 64 bit Intel Atom Quad Core Z3560/ Z3580 (running at 1.8GHz or 2.3GHz) SoC inside it. ZenFone 2 is claimed to be the World’s first Android L smartphone to feature 4GB of RAM for extra-smooth operations, it comes with either 2GB or 4GB RAM.

The higher end flagship model of ASUS ZenFone 2 – ZE551ML features 64-bit Intel Atom Quad Core Z3580 (2.3GHz), PowerVR G6430 with OpenGL 3.0 support SoC processor, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16/32/64 GB internal memory capacity, 13 MP primary and 5 MP wide view secondary selfie PixelMaster 2.0 camera, 3000 mAh non-removable battery, and a 5.5-inches Full HD 1920×1080 pixels resolution IPS display screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
On connectivity front, ZenFone 2 is 4G/LTE enabled, comes with Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, dual band Wi-Fi up to 433 Mbps, Dual SIM Dual Active micro SIM card slot, and Micro USB 2.0 with OTG support.

The budget range model of ASUS ZenFone 2 – ZE550ML also features 64-bit Intel Atom Quad Core Z3560 (1.8GHz), PowerVR G6430 with OpenGL 3.0 support SoC processor, 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16 GB internal memory capacity, 13 MP primary and 5 MP wide view secondary selfie PixelMaster 2.0 camera, 3000 mAh non-removable battery, and a 5.5-inches HD 1280×720 pixels resolution IPS display screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On connectivity front, it is 4G/LTE enabled, comes with Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, dual band Wi-Fi up to 433 Mbps, Dual SIM Dual Active micro SIM card slot, and Micro USB 2.0 with OTG support.
The ZenFone 2 comes with Android L 5.0 tweaked up with Asus’s in-house developed ZenUI launcher for Android. Customizable themes and ASUS apps are few other things offered by ASUS.
ZenFone 2 is equipped with SonicMaster technology for revolutionary smartphone sound quality. Compared to its predecessor, ZenFone 2 has 38% larger audio chambers and improved speakers with better diaphragms and stronger voice coils, resulting in 4X more powerful sound output, 4X deeper bass (increased by 14dB), and 2X higher pitch.

The SKU names are quite confusing as ASUS decided to call all of them simply the ZenFone 2. We recommend you to carefully check the specs before ordering one.
