Apple Twitter handle now active ahead of September 7 iPhone 7 launch

Apple Twitter handle

Apple Twitter handle registered back in September 2011 was lying dormant ever since, until now. As the Cupertino giant has finally updated the account’s profile photo, which shows a black Apple logo. Besides, the larger header photo has been updated with a teaser art for the upcoming September 7 event, where it is expected to announce the new iPhone 7 range along with an Apple Watch 2. Notably, the account hasn’t posted a tweet till date but has already bagged over 43,000 followers. Going by the cover graphic, it is highly likely that @Apple‘s first post might be a live update from the company’s next week keynote.

The iPhone maker is one of the few companies who have for long, refrained itself from advertising and promoting its products and services on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Though with the recent explosion of social networking services, it seems even Apple couldn’t resist the temptation to make its presence felt on social media.

The company has recently taken steps to focus on social media, with the launch of @AppleSupport earlier this year. Moreover, the company also has regional accounts which focus on promoting iTunes and App Store releases. Besides, Apple also has another account, @AppleNews, registered last year which curates fresh content from the Apple News iOS App.

Apple has already sent out media invites for its September 7 event. The company will live stream its keynote presentation from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco which starts 10 a.m Pacific Time. The company is expected to launch the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus or Pro. Besides new iPhones, the Cupertino giant is also expected to launch the next-gen Apple Watch, which could simply be called the iWatch. In addition, Apple is also expected to announce a refreshed MacBook Pro lineup. Also rumored to debut is the new headphone range which the company promotes under the Beats brand.

More information about what Apple has in store this time around will be out in less than a week’s time. We’ll bring you the latest updates from Apple’s keynote presentation on September, till then keep checking this space for more.
