Apple is reportedly building iPhone 8 hardware ‘secretly’ at Israel office

Apple is reportedly building hardware for the iPhone 8 at its offices in Herzliya, Israel. According to reports, the Cupertino-based software giant is gearing up to start the work of the handset, which will be internally referred to as iPhone 8.

Commenting on the developer, an anonymous employee revealed to Business Insider that the upcoming iPhone will be different than the recently released iPhone 7. However, he declined to reveal further information. This revelation substantiates the previous rumor about the proposed radical changes to the iPhone 8.

iPhone 8 could be named as iPhone 7s

According to industry analysts, the naming scheme of iPhone 8 is the most talked about aspects among tech enthusiasts. Since the 2016 release bears iPhone 7 tag, it remains to be seen whether Apple follows the standard practice and name the 2017 handset as iPhone 7s. This should be the normal style but we have to wait and watch what the company decides.

However, with a series of changes likely to be incorporated with iPhone 2017, it is highly unlikely that Apple will name the phone with the big “S” tag. There is also a possibility to use iPhone 2017 instead of iPhone 8.

Anonymous Apple employee referred iPhone 8 as unprompted

While speaking with Business Insider outside Apple’s Herzliya office at Maskit Street 12, the Apple employee maintains this idea alive. He mentioned about the possible “next” from Apple without discussing the iPhone 8 “unprompted” throughout the conversation.

Revealing possible features, the source who only spoke in half English disclosed that the iPhone 2017 will ship with an enhanced camera than the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7.

According to reports, the staff consistently used the term “iPhone 8” unprompted during the entire conversation. This looks interesting because the next logical name for the iPhone to be released in 2017 should be probably iPhone 7s. Technically, iPhone 8 should not be released until 2018. But the company contemplates a change in the wake of 10th-anniversary celebrations

iPhone 8 Features

Talking about the features, the forthcoming iPhone is expected to ship with an all-glass body, edge-to-edge display with the camera and Touch ID integrated into it with the absence of a traditional Home Button. There is a big scope for the integration of Iris scanner and wireless charging.

Even though Apple’s R&D office in Herzliya is currently rumored to be developing the new smartphone, it has nothing to do with marketing and branding of the iPhone.

When Tim Cook visited the Herzliya offices when they opened in 2015, he revealed that the office will only focus on storage space, processors, and communications chips. The office has the strength of over 800 employees.
