After the upgrades on the Apple iPad Mini 3 were rather underwhelming, fans are expecting significant improvements in the Apple’s upcoming iPad Mini 4, which is likely to be launched later this year. Based on rumors and leaks, here is what you should know about the upcoming iPad Mini 4.
There are varying reports on the type of processor the Mini 4 will be equipped with. But the most recent rumors suggest that it may come packed with the same A9 processor that will company Apple’s new smartphones that will be released in September.
There are also strong indications that the Apple iPad Mini 4 will come with 2GB RAM, an updated 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and an undeniable step up from the Mini 3.
The size of the iPad Mini 4 is another area that may see an upgrade from previous versions. There are reports that the Mini 4 will be thinner than the Minis that have been previously launched.
The Apple iPad Mini 4 may have the same thickness as the iPad Air, which is 6.1mm, a noticeable difference from the 7.5mm of previous iPad Minis. And it may sport the same laminated display and anti-reflective coating as the iPad Air 2, making it easier to use outside.
The Mini 4 camera may receive an upgrade. Much like the iPad Air 2, the Mini 4 will feature an 8MP iSight camera, giving it another step up from the 5MP on the Mini 3.
Unfortunately, until Apple has an official unveiling of the iPad Mini 4, there won’t be complete confirmation on these features. Although the price for the Apple iPad Mini 4 is expected to be in the range of $400-$600.
As for when consumers will be able to get their hands on the Mini 4, if history is any indication, Apple will unveil the device in the middle of October, with the iPad Mini 4 hitting shelves anywhere between one and three weeks later after the official launch.
