Android Nougat release date pushed to September, likely coming with LG 20 at IFA 2016

The first device running Android 7.0 Nougat is speculated to be unveiled at the IFA this year. LG V20 will be the lucky device to first taste the upcoming Android version. Google was expected to officially announce the latest version of its Operating System near the end of this month. The next generation Android version will come with various improvements and a number of new features. Developer Preview versions of the Android N is available since March this year. Recently, the developer version has received the fifth update which is also the deemed as the final one.

The latest Android operating system will bring more internal upgrades rather than changes in visual appearance. Android will natively support many added functions, many of which are already added by some manufacturers into their devices.

Android Nougat will be able to show multiple apps at the same time by splitting the display into equal or unequal parts. This has been present in Samsung and LG smartphones for a significant time. This feature is especially useful for large screen devices and tablets where it can considerably increase the productivity.

A brand new window mode is also present, using which you can open various apps at the same time. Each app will be opened in a desktop-like window which can overlap each other. Although this innovative feature remains hidden in the developer builds, we may see it in the foreground in the stable version of Android 7.0.

Users of the forthcoming Android version can also enjoy its ability to response to inline notifications. This is a pretty handy feature as a user can reply to messages or react to notifications without the need to leave the current page. Like the previous one, this too is not a new feature and has been made available by many Android phone manufacturers.

Android Nougat will sport a renovated notification shade with reduced icon sizes. The notification cards will feature a brand new sheet design. There will also be a scope for bundling multiple notifications from the same app. Each application will have enhanced control over their notifications.

The brand new “Doze” mode of Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be improved in the upcoming version. It has become more intelligent to facilitate increased power efficiency of an Android 7.0 smartphone. The upgraded “Doze” mode in the forthcoming Android version has the ability to detect if the Android handset is in motion when it further lowers the CPU and RAM use lengthening the battery life.

The Android 7.0 Nougat is expected to land in Nexus devices by the end of August. The LG V20 will be the first smartphone to be announced running the latest Android OS.
