Google has started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update on its select Nexus smartphones along with Android One and Pixel C tablet. Now a new report confirms that the latest Android update will soon be hitting Moto G4 series as well as Moto Z series smartphones starting next quarter, i.e. between October to December.

As per a statement by Droid-life, a Motorola spokesperson has confirmed that users can “expect to see Android N on the Moto Z family and Moto G4 beginning in Q4.” If we go by the statement, then Moto G4 series including Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G4 Play will receive the update. The Moto Z phones to run on Android 7.0 comprise Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play Droid, Moto Z Play, and Moto Z Droid.

Considering that most of the flagship devices are still in line to taste Android Nougat, it’s going to be a delight for Moto G4 and Moto Z series smartphone holders. Meanwhile, LG V20 is the only smartphone to come with Android Nougat pre-installed. We are also hearing that OnePlus is working on bringing Nougat update on its latest flagship OnePlus 3 smartphone.

The Nougat update on Moto series will bring a slew of improvements and new features like multitasking, new emojis, and enhanced battery life. The Doze mode has been tweaked and it now activates itself as the phone’s screen goes off. The Notifications panel has also improved to allow users answer directly through the notifications panel. The Split-screen feature offers multi-tasking by allowing you to work on two apps simultaneously.
