Amazon is bringing its front-lit e-reader into the Indian market and has announced the new iteration for the Kindle Paperwhite. Starting from today, customers will be able to place the order for Kindle Paperwhite on Amazon India’s website. An actual product Shipping will start from February 4 this year. It should also be noted that the company has stopped the sale of the older version of this e-book reader on Amazon India’s website.
As far as the price is concerned, the e-reader will be available in two versions. Its 3G+WiFi version will cost Rs. 13,999, while the one with only WiFi option will be available for just Rs. 10,999. Offline, the Kindle Paperwhite will be available in about 250 retail outlets in the country. Outlets offering the e-reader officially across India includes E-Zone, Vijay Sales stores, UniverCell, Reliance Digital and Croma.
Kindle Paperwhite comes with amazing new features, which include an innovative display technology. It will have a built-in light that has been improved for better reading experience. The e-reader will also come with a faster processor, which will be 25 percent faster than the earlier processor. In addition, the touch technology of the model has been revamped by offering a 19 percent tighter touch grid thereby improving the sensitivity.
The official reports of the company also suggests that the Kindle Paperwhite will also come with better contrast and higher reflectivity, making your words sharper and stand out in the white background. This e-reader weighs 206 grams and provides a battery backup of 8 weeks once charged.
This list of new features also includes features like Kindle Page Flip in-line footnotes, Freetime and Vocabulary Builder. With this e-reader, the customers will also get an option to connect with Facebook and Twitter. The social networking sites have been integrated for faster and easier sharing of the highlighted sections and quotes.
