Mobile phone operator Aircel in India announced a new subscription plan that it said offers unlimited STD voice call for just 10p per minute. The new package is called ‘Uniting India @ 10p’ and offers unlimited music pack at no additional charge.
Aircel said that the free music bundle will remain active for 30 days only. And the special price of 10p per minute applies to Aircel to Aircel voice calls only. So if your friends and family members are subscribers of other operators, you may not be benefited much by switching to this package. The operator’s standard charges will apply to all STD phone calls you make even if you’re in Uniting India @ 10p package.
The new package, that works across the whole country, is applicable for new connections as well as existing Aircel subscribers. So if you think the ability to call at 10p per minute to all Aircel numbers all over India, this package may save you a lot of money. For existing Aircel customers, the package starts at as low as Rs. 36 per 30 days. And for new customers, the lowest price for the package is Rs. 71 for a period of one month.
Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer of Aircel said that the company wants to keep delivering products that are first of its kind. Aircel did indeed launch a number of services in the past that no other mobile phone operator was providing. Those services include Aircel Pocket Internet, an attempt at getting new smartphone users to get into the 3G network, and Facebook Voice Updates feature.
