iPhone 8 Face Unlock feature and more leaks ahead of tomorrow’s launch

iPhone 8

Apple is finally going to reveal the next iPhone tomorrow with full design overhaul and lots of new features we haven’t seen in current iPhone. Various leaks and tips are coming from the sources about the next iPhone. There is also a leak about what apple was going to call the next iPhone, iPhone 8 or iPhone X. One more leak is on the internet about the next iPhone is a video showing the face unlock feature.

The video reveals a feature to enroll the face for creating the ID and unlocking the phone. We can see that the person in video enrolled his face by tapping on Enroll Face settings. There are more settings under the “Face ID and Passcode” settings which are also going to be a new addition to the settings menu.

We can also see that the Face ID can be used for unlocking the iPhone, for iTunes and App Store and Safari Autofill. These three settings have toggle beside them to enable or disable them. Another video shows the animation while adding a new Face ID.

It is said that the Face ID will also be available for the previous generation iPhones as a software update. The Face ID is not just a simple face recognition; it senses the depths to make the ID more secure. The facial recognition feature might be the substitute for the Touch ID because there is no Touch ID option in the Face ID and Passcode setting menu.

There are more leaks about the iPhone surfaced on the internet came from the same iOS 11 codes from which the other leaks came from. The codes also have some hints about wireless charging and more features. The wireless charging will show some new animation but the iOS developer Guilherme Rambo haven’t found any new charging animation in the codes.

The facial recognition is said to be achieved by four Face ID components; a structured light transmitter, structure light receiver, front camera and time of light/proximity sensor. The light modules might be Vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) arrays operating the infrared spectrum. These modules might be used to collect the information about the depth to integrate it with the 2D data captured from the front facing camera.

The codes also revealed several specifications for the next iPhone. It is said that the iPhone 8 will be featuring 2GB of RAM and the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X will be featuring 3GB RAM. The codes also suggested that the iPhone X will feature a 12MP rear camera with 4K video support at 60 fps and 1080p videos at 240 fps.

Some more leaks from the code suggest that the iPhone X might come with a 7MP front facing camera which will support 1080 p videos at 30 fps. The iPhone X might also be featuring a 6-core Apple SoC which might be consisting of four cores; two high performance “Mistral” cores and two energy efficient “Monsoon” cores.

Rest all is still a mystery for us but not for long, Apple is going to raise the curtain tomorrow. If you want to know everything about the next iPhone, then make sure to tune in to PC-Tablet to know everything about the next iPhone.
