German automaker Audi has unveiled its first diesel model Audi A4 35TDI with a price tag of Rs. 40.20 lakh ex-showroom price in Delhi. The Audi A4 is the second model of the fifth-generation Audi 45 range. It is the second high end car to be released by the German carmaker after its A3 Cabriolet facelift last week.
Mr Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India said that it was a tough task to bring out a successor to a bestselling model which has been considered a benchmark among sedans for luxury and raw power. The present edition is even better than the highly successful A4 30 TFSI
The A4 Diesel is powered by a 2.0 liter TDI four cylinder brute of an engine and is married to a 7 Speed S-Tronic transmission. The engine throws out a maximum power of 190hp and 400 Nm torque and does 0 to 100 in under 8 seconds. It has a fuel efficiency of 18.25 kilometers per liter and a peak speed of 237 kph. It has 4 driving modes: Comfort, Dynamic, Auto and Individual.
Audi claims that it’s all new A4 diesel offers 7% more power as well as 7% more mileage as compared to its predecessors. Other important features include LED headlights, dynamic turn indicators, redesigned alloy wheels as well as virtual cockpit 12.3-inch fully-digital instrument cluster and 8.3 inch MML Navigation infotainment system. The A4 diesel boasts LED interior lighting and is ably complemented with three Zone Autonomous air conditioning and 3 spoke steering wheel. Security features include ABS with Electronic brake force distribution and traction control, Parking Aid Plus, Rear View Camera and Eight airbags.
Audi sells a varied range of models in India which includes A3, A4, Audi A6 and A8 along with SUVs.
