ZenFone 5Z

The ZenFone 5Z is the next big thing forthcoming from Asus and we now have a good idea of what the phone will cost when it goes on sale in India tomorrow. It is going to be Rs. 29,999, which applies to the base model of the ZenFone 5Z, with the price topping off at Rs. 36,999 for the top of the line version. The prices have been revealed at the phone’s listing on Flipkart.

As is known from the online retail site, the ZenFone 5Z will be available in different specifications which include one that will have 6 GB RAM and 64 GB of ROM and is priced Rs. 29,999. Next in line is the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM and will set one back Rs. 32,999. Then there is also the top-end model that will have 8 GB of RAM along with 256 GB of storage and commands a price tag of Rs. 36,999. Needless to say, the listing has since been removed.

Needless to say, the Taiwanese manufacturer has the likes of the OnePlus 6 or the Huawei P20 Pro squarely in its sight with the new ZenFone 5Z. The 5Z also has the looks and specifications to take on the competition. The notched display might not be to the liking of all but the phone as a whole does look inviting. And the competing devices too sport a similar design so far as the notch is concerned.

As for its specifications, the new 5Z comes powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset and the Adreno 630 GPU. This happens to be the common specification that applies to all version while RAM varies from 6 GB to 8 GB. The phone meanwhile runs Android 8.0 Oreo but has the ZenUI 5.0 running on top. On the front, it is a 6.2-inch full HD+ display that dominates the looks. The display sports an aspect ratio of 19:9, something that too is in line with the convention currently in practice.

So far as the optics are concerned, the 5Z boasts of a dual lens rear camera which comprises of a 12 megapixel sensor of f/1.8 aperture. Complementing the sensor will be another 8 megapixel secondary sensor of f/2.2 aperture. As for the selfie cam on the front, there is the 8 megapixel unit of f/2.0 aperture. The front cam also serves as the means to identify the user and functions as the facial recognition feature. A 3300 mAh battery that supports fast recharge keeps the lights on.
